Why This Module Matters0 lessons
Description
Module 3: Paragraph Writing helps Cambridge O Level (1123), IGCSE, and Edexcel International GCSE English Language students progress from writing individual sentences to creating clear, organised, and well-developed paragraphs. Students learn how to write effective topic sentences, maintain unity and relevance, and support main ideas with explanations, reasons, examples, and details. The module develops coherence and cohesion through logical organisation, linking words, pronouns, and key vocabulary. Students explore common paragraph structures, including general-to-specific, cause-and-effect, order of importance, and time order. They also practise repairing weak paragraphs, transforming notes into complete writing, linking paragraphs, and planning short pieces. Through guided workshops, students apply these skills to descriptive, narrative, explanatory, argumentative, persuasive, and directed writing tasks, building confidence for examination responses and future writing functions.
